This is a really lovely class to be part of and my icon painting has really come on through it. Basia is a wonderful teacher and gives extremely helpful and personalised feedback. I highly recommend joining!

  2. Lorraine Goodison (verified owner)

I’ve attended Basia’s classes in person and online and can honestly say I’ve learnt a lot about the process of using egg tempera and of painting icons. Basia is very patient and knowledgeable, providing examples and guidance on all aspects. She uses a balanced approach to all levels of student which encourages and enables study and exploration. I felt confident enough to create a contemporary icon with her support. I cannot recommend Basia’s classes highly enough.

  3. Laurent

I like this course which is a more a gathering or a meeting of people who enjoy to learn more about icon painting that a lecture. Basia guides us, advices us and suggests to us alternatives. She also brings her technical knowledge to help us to achieve our goals without imposing her views. I love this Monday evening time, it has a deep spiritual meaning through painting and fellowship.

  4. Brian Cowen

When I discovered Basia was providing online courses, I decided to enrol to see if I could develop my iconography skills. She is so patient and knowledgable that one soon feels confident in ones ability to embark on egg tempera painting. Her teaching is grounded in history, theology and technique and this opens the whole dimension of iconography. There are no ‘ mistakes’ in ones attempts, just learning experiences and developments. She is very patient and has a good sense of humour. I would highly recommend her as a tutor and encourage others to enrol on her courses.

  5. Coby

I have learnt an extraordinary depth of understanding in the skills of icon painting during Basia’s online courses. The awesome task of interpreting an original icon to my own work seemed an overwhelming project at first but I was instructed step by step into a process which simplified my approach and enabled me to discover the techniques of this intriguing art form.Basia encourages us to find our own style while freely exploring an authentic expression. I continue to make progress with each new icon I begin and watch unfold with surprising results.
